Description

Authentic Vintage Mid-1970’s Men’s Unstructured Blazer / Cardigan Jacket

Tailored by the prestigious Hepton of Grosvenor Street, London. This is a phenomenal, rare piece of British fashion history, showcasing the peak of 1970’s alternative tailoring. Designed with a distinct cardigan-style V-neckline (no lapel notches), a low-slung three-button front, and oversized front patch pockets, it perfectly captures the relaxed yet sharp “leisure jacket” aesthetic of the mid-70’s era.

Key Features & Fabric:

  • The Pattern: A vibrant, textured micro-check/houndstooth pattern blending earthy olive greens, rich browns, and sky blue accents.
  • The Fabric: A lightweight, wrinkle-resistant texturized synthetic knit (consistent with mid-70’s Crimplene/polyester blends) that holds its sharp shape flawlessly while offering a comfortable stretch.
  • The Construction: Superb half-lined interior construction. The lining covers the shoulders and chest for structure, leaving the lower back unlined for breathability. All interior exposed seams are beautifully finished and taped—a true sign of high-end Mayfair tailoring. Two internal chest pockets.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition. The fabric pattern remains bright and crisp. Buttons are original and secure.

Measurements (Laid Flat):
  • Chest : 40/41 (UK)
  • Pit to Pit: 21 inches
  • Shoulder to Shoulder: 19 inches
  • Sleeve Length (Shoulder to Cuff): 24 inches
  • Total Length (Base of collar to hem): 30 inches
Perfect for vintage collectors, retro fashion enthusiasts, or anyone looking to add a genuine, high-quality piece of 1970’s British styling to their modern wardrobe.
