Rare Vintage 1970’s “Deadstock” Men’s Derby Shoes
Brand: J. Edwards & Son Ltd. (Historic Manchester / Preston / Altrincham retailer)
Size: UK 7.5
Condition: Pristine, Unworn Vintage “Deadstock” (New Old Stock)
Origin: Made in England
A beautiful, time-capsule piece of British footwear history. These premium derby shoes feature rich, classic reddish-brown leather uppers and a rugged, Goodyear-welted construction. They were originally retailed by the legendary J. Edwards & Son Ltd., famous for their iconic shop on Deansgate, Manchester.
The Soles:
The shoes are fitted with their original, flawless Itshide “Commando Style” lugged rubber soles. Manufactured in Petersfield, England, Itshide is the historical inventor of the rugged Commando sole pattern.
Condition Report:
These shoes are completely unworn and have been carefully stored for roughly 45–50 years. The white welt stitching is incredibly clean, and the tread edges are completely sharp with zero wear. The gold foil branding on the insoles is crisp and fully legible. (As with all genuine vintage leather, a light conditioning treatment is recommended before your first wear to soften the leather).
Perfect for collectors of heritage British menswear, Mod/Ska style enthusiasts, or anyone looking for bulletproof, bench-made English quality that isn’t manufactured like this anymore.
Ships securely packaged. Please see photos for exact condition and internal stamping details.
