Very rare 1950’s Military Air Police Zippo lighter

Description
Very rare 1950’s Military Air Police Zippo lighter. This lighter belonged to Michael Buxton of the USAF 48th Air Police Squadron, stationed at U.S Air Force Lakenheath during the 1950’s. The lighter has enamelled ‘Strategic Air Command’ on the front, ‘U.S.AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH’ to the rear. The lighter has been engraved ‘M.BUXTON, 48th AIR POLICE SQ’ to the front lid. The lighter was found in the pocket of Michael Buxton’s USAF Air Police uniform.
Condition: Very good, minor scratches and dings. Requires replacement flint.
U.S Air Force Lakenheath is based in the United Kingdom but controlled by the USAF since the cold war, it is the largest U.S Air Force base in Europe.
